The Original 'Sabrina' Cast Is Terrified By New Series
The original cast of 'Sabrina, The Teenage Witch' sat down to watch the 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' and had the pants absolutely scared off them.
The new Netflix series starring Kiernan Shipka is much darker than the fun '90s teen sitcom -- as Melissa Joan Hart, Nate Richert, Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea soon found out.
Broderick and Rhea played Aunt Hilda and Zelda in the original TV show -- and honestly, they seem to be exactly like their characters in real life.
The pair squeal and cover their eyes through some of the scarier scenes of the new Sabrina.
"I don’t like the scary music," said Rhea in the clip released by Netflix. "And I don’t like the bird."
“This is not our Sabrina!" Rhea exclaimed.
"We would never have allowed Sabrina to behave that way," Broderick said in a very concerned Aunt Zelda way.
Hart and Richert -- who played the original Sabrina Spellman and Harvey Kinkle -- were also surprised at just how spooky the new series is.
"I am not letting my kids watch this!" said Hart as she and Richert watched an episode of the new Sabrina. "They’d probably like this better but I don’t think I’ll let them know about it just yet."
The cast also had some thoughts on the talented new cat that plays Sabrina's familiar Salem in the new series.
"This Salem looks so much more real than our Salem did," observed Rhea.
"We had the alcoholic rabbit wearing a hairpiece," she recalled, impersonating the classic animatronic cat, voiced by actor Nick Bakay.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is streaming now on Netflix.
