Stephen Curry To Star In New Aussie Comedy Mr. Black

The series will launch on Network Ten in 2019.

On Wednesday it was announced that Stephen Curry would be starring in a new Aussie comedy, Mr. Black.

The series sees Curry starring in the titular role as a former sports journo "whose mortality is staring him in the face".

With the clock ticking Mr. Black only has one thing on his bucket list: breaking up his daughter and her new-age boyfriend.

The series also stars Nadine Garner as Rowena Black, Sophie Wright as Angela Black, Nick Russell as Fin Cruickshank and Paul Denny as Malcolm.

The series was created by Adam Zwar, who was also behind the series Wilfred as well as the Agony series, and co-written by Amanda Brotchie.

It is a delight to be working with Adam and Amanda.," Network Ten's head of comedy Paul Leadon said.

"They are an incredibly strong creative duo. Throw in Stephen Curry, Nadine Garner, an amazing cast, plus the team at CJZ and we have all the ingredients for a very special narrative comedy."

Screen Australia's Production Investment Manager Shana Levine added, "Zwar and his writing team have created a highly entertaining script, breathing new life into the classic father, daughter and daughter’s new boyfriend dynamic."

The series, which is currently in production, is set to air on TEN and WIN Network in 2019.
