HBO Officially Greenlights Deadwood Movie

More like ALIVEwood! IDK.

HBO have announced they're fiiiinally ready to move ahead with the long-awaited Deadwood movie!

The news was announced during a Televisions Critics Association press tour on Wednesday with HBO programming president Casey Bloys saying, "It’s been a logistics nightmare getting all the cast members’ schedules together, but we are there".

"It is greenlit."

The series ended in 2006 after only three seasons, but fans have been begging for a return, with rumours of a movie popping up for years.

With an ensemble cast including Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker and Jim Beaver the series was set in the 1870s and followed the development of the titular town as it developed from a camp.

It also featured Ian McShane swearing like it was punctuation.

While Bloys didn't give away what the movie would actually feature plot-wise, he did reveal the film is currently set to start shooting in October, with a scheduled release for next year!

The perfect amount of time to plan when we'll binge the series all over again.
