Sacha Baron Cohen's New Show Drops This Sunday

Who Is America? will drop at 3pm this Sunday, and features Sacha Baron Cohen asking former Vice President Dick Cheney to sign his "waterboard kit".

Hi friends.

The other day, we were all shook at the mysterious teaser video that Sacha Baron Cohen posted on Independence Day.

Today, we know what it's all about -- and it's happening soon -- so let's strap in and see what's to come!

As it turns out, Sacha is returning to TV in a brand new series titled Who Is America?

Here's the official line on the show: “In the works over the past year, the seven-episode series will explore the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate our unique nation.”

Sounds like a Louis Theroux doco, you might be thinking, but it wouldn't be a Sacha Baron Cohen show without moments that will have audiences screaming, and in another teaser posted to Twitter, it seems Who Is America? will deliver just that.

“Imagine if Sacha Baron Cohen had been undercover secretly filming a new show for a year…” begins the video.

All of a sudden, former Vice President Dick Cheney is being asked by Sacha -- posing undercover as a journalist -- to sign his "waterboard kit"... which he... does, saying: “That’s a first, that’s the first time I’ve ever signed a waterboard.”

FYI, Dick Cheney's stance on the torture of innocent people is: "I have no problem as long as we achieve our objective."

Showtime announced the show on Monday, with president and CEO David Nevins saying:

“Sacha is a comedic genius who shocks you with his audacity, bravery and inventiveness. He is the premier provocateur of our time, but not for the sake of ‘gotcha’ moments. Behind the elaborate setup is a genuine quest for the truth about people, places and politics. Nobody knows how to cause a stir like Sacha Baron Cohen, and it’s going to be fascinating to watch what happens when Who Is America? is released on the world.”

It's good news for Aussie fans, too, as Stan has announced today that they'll be fast-tracking the show for us, with eps dropping weekly from 3pm this Sunday, July 15.

Can't wait!
