No, Ariana Didn’t Come Out As Bi On Her New Single

Ariana Grande dropped a surprise single today and -- for a hot second there -- fans were convinced that Ari had come out as bisexual.

The new track "thank u, next" references Ariana's former partners, including rapper Big Sean, backup dancer Ricky Alvarez, recent ex Pete Davidson, and Mac Miller -- who passed away two months ago.

"Thought I’d end up with Sean/But it wasn’t a match," Ari sings on the first verse of the new track.

"Wrote some songs about Ricky/Now I listen and laugh. Even almost got married/And for Pete, I’m so thankful.

"Wish I could say, “Thank You” to Malcolm/’Cause he was an angel," Ari sings, in a heartbreaking tribute to Miller.

But it's the second verse that had Arianators abuzz, thinking for a minute there that "thank u" was really a musical vehicle for her announcing her bisexuality.

Apple Music mistakenly transcribed Grande's lyrics that mention "meeting someone new" -- as Aubrey, instead of Ari.

Fans quickly got excited about Ari's new girlfriend -- before realising that she's really talking about loving herself.

Ariana confirmed the correct lyrics on her Twitter page -- dragging Apple Music for the mix-up and praising Spotify for "getting it right".

And while fans were excited that Ari might have been bi, they're also happy the real lyrics are about celebrating self-love.

Some have pointed out that this whole mess could have been avoided if Ari wasn't such a fan of mumble-singing.

"thank u, next" is streaming on Apple Music now if you want to listen for yourself if the track really does sound like she's singing about Aubrey.
