Prior to his murder outside a motorcycle dealership in June this year, XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy) was facing a slew of allegations that included robbery, witness tampering, false imprisonment and aggravated battery.

While the rapper vehemently denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to the charges before his death, according to a report by The Miami Times, ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala alleged that the star regularly abused her by backhanding her, choking her and threatening to kill her.

Ayala also alleged that one time he beat her so violently that she lost some of her vision -- which reportedly occurred while she was pregnant with the former couple's unborn child.

One of the most distressing incidents Ayala described was when she alleged that during an argument, X threatened to penetrate her with either a  "barbecue pitchfork” or “barbecue cleaner.” She alleged that after she passed out in fear, he didn't follow through with the threat.

While many of the rapper's fans staunchly refuted Ayala's claims,  branding her as a "liar" and a "scorned ex out for revenge", Pitchfork has today revealed they obtained a secret recording in which XXXTentacion is talking with acquaintances around the time of his October 8, 2016 arrest. You can listen to the excerpt of the tape here.

While discussing his ex, whom he believed had cheated, he said:

"I put my source of happiness in another person, which was a mistake initially, right?” But she fell through on every occasion until now. Until I started fucking her up, bruh. I started fucking her up because she made one mistake. And from there, the whole cycle went down. Now she’s scared. That girl is scared for her life. Which I understand.”

The rapper also claims to be involved in a stabbing incident in Deerfield Beach, Florida that took place in January 2016.

He references an article in the Miami New Times that detailed the stabbing, saying:

"[Redacted] you seen me. You know what I do to people,” he’s heard telling several unidentified people. “[…] All them boys knew. It’s on fucking [Miami] New Times. I'm on New Times for stabbing -- how many people they put in the news? They said three; it was eight. In Deerfield.”

"She seen when I came back, had a brand new laptop. No tears on my face, no remorse... I just knew I was going to jail... So she's scared. She thinks I'm going to kill her,” he continued.

While no suspects were ever charged for the incident in question, a police report at the time mentioned a statement from a witness that “saw an unknown black male with tattoos on his face swinging a knife in multiple directions.”

XXXTentacion also admitted to stabbing a former manager -- which he was arrested for July 2016, before being released on bond shortly after. He mentioned the various acts of violence in the recording in order to showcase why his ex-girlfriend was scared for her life.

“She’s seen this shit,” XXXTentacion said. “She know that.”

All criminal charges against the late rapper were closed after his death.
