Pink Gets Party Re-Started On Saturday Night
The high-energy performer apologised on stage for cancelling shows.
Pink has bounced back (literally!) from her battle with a respiratory illness and gastro, giving an energetic performance that showed no signs of the sickness that saw her admitted to hospital this week.
Starting the Saturday night show -- somewhat appropriately -- with her 2002 hit Get The Party Started, the 38-year-old mum-of-two apologised for show cancellations to almost 20,000 screaming fans at Qudos Bank Arena.
“Thank you guys for being here tonight. I’m not contagious, I swear,” she laughed.
"I hope I didn't screw up anyone's week ... sorry if I did."
The So What songstress gave her signature high-energy performance, literally swinging from a chandelier and bouncing above the stage -- and the crowd -- on a bungee cord.
It was a far cry from her sedate week, which included three days in St Vincent's Hospital, reportedly battling excruciating pain.
“You don’t want to kiss me -- it’s not safe,” she joked to her appreciative audience.
“I’m feeling all right. St Vincent’s is really nice. I had an awesome doctor. Usually doctors hate me ‘cause I know everything”.
And it wasn't just Sydney's medical professionals who were offering their support this week. Behind the scenes of her spectacular stage comeback were none other than Katy Perry and Hugh Jackman.
With that kind of love in your life, why wouldn't you be soaring?
The 'Beautiful Trauma' tour continues tonight, with Pink announcing the rescheduled tour dates for those who missed her shows in Sydney and Brisbane.
