U.S. Rapper Riff Raff's Australian Tour Cancelled After Allegations Made By Female Fan

Several venues, then the tour promoter, pulled out of the tour.

The Australian tour from American rapper Riff Raff, which was due to begin on Friday in Cairns, has been cancelled after allegations from a woman in Melbourne went viral on Facebook.

The rapper, whose real name is Horst Christian Simco, had eight Australian dates booked in Australia over the next two weeks. However, following serious claims voiced by a Melbourne woman relating to a previous tour of Australia, several venues on the schedule announced on Friday they would be cancelling those concerts.

Later in the afternoon, the promoter of the tour, Audiopaxx, posted a statement to its Facebook page saying the entire tour had been cancelled.

Riff Raff is already in Australia, and has posted social media updates from Cairns where he was to begin his tour on Friday night.

"We have recently been made aware of allegations against Riff Raff on a previous Australian tour,"  read a statement posted to Facebook by Newcastle's Cambridge Hotel.

"In light of these allegations we have decided to cancel Riff Raff's show in Newcastle. The Cambridge takes these matters very seriously and want to ensure the venue is as safe and inclusive as can be."

Similar messages were released by Melbourne's Corner Hotel, Brisbane's TBC Club and Adelaide's HQ venue.
