The First Trailer For Jordan Peele’s 'Us' Just Dropped And It's Terrifying

Prepare to be scared silly.

Following on from his award-winning film Get Out, Jordan Peele is ready to scare the pants of us once again with his highly anticipated freaky flick Us -- and if the trailer that dropped today is anything to go by, we're in for a wild ride.

The first trailer for the horror film follows a family (including Black Panther's Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke) on a beach vacation with friends (including Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss) before one of the couple's children begin to follow a bloody, eerie figure on the beach.

That night, they are interrupted by a group of four people who mysteriously show up on their driveway, and soon they make a horrific discovery about the home invaders -- they look just like them.

As chaos unfolds, we're shown snippets of the family trying to fight off their monstrous attackers who know their every move.

“They look like us, they think like us, they know where we are,” the family soon realise. “They won’t stop until they kill us -- or we kill them.”

Director Jordan Peele revealed that it was imperative to him that there be a black family at the centre of the story, however, unlike his highly acclaimed flick Get Out -- which won an Oscar for best original screenplay -- Us wasn't focused on racial issues, but rather the idea that we are our own worst enemy.

“Stories about monsters are one of our best ways of getting at deeper truths and facing our fears as a society,” Peele said. What sort of deeper truths? Per the director, Us is “about something that’s become an undeniable fact: the simple truth that we are our own worst enemies.”
