First Look At Will Smith's Genie From Aladdin Is A Trash Fire

Thanks, I hate it.

Disney is constantly releasing an endless stream of remakes and while the mouse house does their best to wring cash out of every pre-existing property, we have a few concerns.

This tweet sums it up pretty perfectly:

Let's just get this out of the way. Will Smith's Genie... well... doesn't look great, you guys.

The stars of the film appeared in costume on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, giving us a first look at Aladdin (Mena Massoud), Jasmine (Naomi Scott) and the Genie (Will Smith).

Prepare yourself.

What in fresh hell is that?

Disney forced a team of highly talented animators to painstakingly recreate The Lion King with pinpoint accuracy and the Aladdin guys superglued a top-knot onto Will Smith's head?

SO HERE'S THE REAL DEAL:

According to the film's director, Guy Richie, the Genie WILL be blue -- as is his tradition -- and will look like "a muscular 1970s dad" which... sounds lowkey hot, but whatever.

"He was big enough to feel like a force-- not so muscular that he looked like he was counting his calories, but formidable enough to look like you knew when he was in the room," Richie told EW.

Unfortunately for Smith, that disclaimer wasn't printed on the front of the mag alongside his Hot Dollar genie outfit, and the internet reacted accordingly.

Smith also confirmed on his Instagram that he would be mostly CGI, responding to a concerned fan Smith said, "This is how the Genie is in Human / Disguise Form. My character will be CGI most of the movie".

Okay so we don't want to ruin your whole day with how borked Smith looks, so we would also like to introduce you to... Hot Jafar.

Yep, they cast a straight-up hot dude to play Jafar. People were not ready for Marwan Kenzari's VERY good looking villain.

Remember how in the cartoon Jafar looked like a fabulous, evil umbrella? Well, now he looks like every man who texts you at 3 am and you GLADLY respond.

And don't even get us started on Aladdin wearing eight different vests. You get ONE VEST AND NO NIPPLES, ALADDIN. We DON'T make the rules!!!!

That better be a work in progress too.
