Kevin Hart Will Host The Oscars Next Year

It's nearly the best season of the year: award season.

The Academy announced today that next year's host will be Kevin Hart, taking over from this year's Jimmy Kimmel.

Posting the news to Instagram, the actor and comedian called the news "unbelievable", said that and said that he was ready to "rise to the occasion".

"For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same... I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it's suppose to," he wrote.

So far, the reaction to the news on Twitter has been mixed.

While some are excited about the news and think the film star will help boost ratings...

Others are less than excited, particularly in regards to homophobic comments he's made in the past.

And others are just... not that into him.
