Chris Evans Might Not Be Done Playing Captain America After All
What does this MEAN?!
Okay y'all, we need to talk.
So back in October Chris Evans aka Captain America tweeted about his "emotional" last day on the set of the STILL untitled Avengers 4.
"It was an emotional day, to say the least," the dreamboat tweeted, "Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honour."
Evans' contract with Marvel is famously wrapping up after Avengers 4 meaning he'd be hanging up his shield and cowl. Or so we thought.
Speaking to the Associated Press, Joe Russo -- one of the writers and directors on the fourth Avengers -- said, "I think it was more emotional for him than us."
In a big ol' twist -- bigger than the end of Avengers: Infinity War -- Russo dropped a major bomb.
"Only because he's not done yet. And I don't want [to] explain what that means but the audience will soon understand what I'm talking about."
Okay, but what does that MEAN!? And when Russo says "soon" -- HOW soon?!
Captain America was one of the few Marvel characters spared by Thanos' wrath at the end of Infinity War, but with Evans' contract up, everyone assumed the fourth Avengers flick wouldn't go so great for him.
"We killed half the Marvel universe so for us it really is about, in what ways can we surprise the audience and tell a very challenging story," Russo said, adding that the film is halfway through the editing process.
Thankfully, if you're hungry for a whopper of a movie, Russo also said it's currently standing at the longest Marvel movie so far, clocking in at just about three hours long.
"It's a very complicated movie," he added.
Avengers 4 is currently scheduled for release in May 2019. We... want it sooner.
