Love Actually: Keira Knightley Explained That Stupid Enormous Hat
It's the hotly debated holiday classic, but ONE thing we can all agree on is Keira Knightley's hat was just far too big.
Yep, her hat was enormous, it's basically part of the ensemble cast.
Remember, she's talking to Andrew Lincoln's weird stalker character about the wedding video, and she looks like she just ran off a community theatre production of Oliver Twist!
Well, we now have the full story. In a chat with BBC Radio 1, Keira explained the very bold, very big fashion choice.
"[I] had a massive spot in the middle of my forehead," the 33-year-old explained.
At the time of filming Knightley was ONLY 17 (which makes Andrew Lincoln even creepier but DON'T get us started, that's not why we're here), and so the only way to conceal an enormous pimple on her head was -- as she explained -- "put a hat on it".
"This is the problem with being 17 and being in films. It was humongous," she said, "There was no choice, so we had to find a hat to cover it. There was no lighting, there was no makeup that was going to cover it."
"I remember coming in in the morning and being like, 'Oh, wow, I've got another head on my head. What are we going to do? There's nothing we can do about this'."
"But there is, because you could always put a hat over it."
So there you go, now you know the origin story behind one of the most enormous hats in cinematic history.
Now onto the next Love Actually mystery. Who is Carol Singers?
