Will Smith And Martin Lawrence Are Confirmed For Bad Boys 3
Finally, the boys are back together and badder than ever.
Posting to social media, Will Smith wrote "It's been a LOOOONG time coming. But now it's here! Bad boys for life. We back!!"
And finally, he confirmed his co-star Martin Lawrence would be joining the fray.
And Smith's not lying, this has been a LOOOONG time coming. Years in fact. The rumoured third film in the Bad Boys franchise has been around for ages, and in 2015 Sony confirmed a third film WOULD be happening, but neither star had officially signed on.
At that time the studio had dated the film for a 2017 release but when 2016 came around and negotiations were still going on, that got bumped to January 2018.
Well, obviously that didn't happen, but now the film -- currently called Bad Boys For Life -- is planned for a 2020 release, and with both stars officially signed on it's going to be an explosive return to the franchise.
The original film was released more than 20 years ago and was directed by Michael Bay. Lawrence and Smith starred as two narcotics detectives from Miami which spawned a sequel in 2003.
Lawrence's last movie was 2011's Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, but in 2019 he's set to star in Harmony Korine's The Beach Bum alongside Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron and Isla Fisher.
It's still super early days but there are rumours that the third Bad Boys will catch up with our fave Miami detectives who are reunited after so many years when a bounty is put on both their heads.
