Bette Midler Watched Hocus Pocus For The First Time In 20 Years
It's one of the most iconic Halloween movies of all time and the star of 'Hocus Pocus' just watched it for the first time in two decades.
Winifred Sanderson herself, Bette Midler told Us Weekly that she had only JUST watched the cult-favourite film again saying, "I do not watch it regularly. In fact, I had not seen it in at least 20 years."
The movie was released in 1993 and starred Midler alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the wicked witchy sisters who are brought back to life by an unsuspecting virgin.
Midler obviously loved re-watching the film (how could she not) but she also revealed that she was impressed by her co-stars.
"The first time I watched it, I was only watching myself," Midler said, "but this time I saw everybody, and I tell you, those girls in the back of me, they were going full blast!”
Midler watched the flick ahead of the film's 25th anniversary Halloween Bash that aired on Freeform in the States. She also posted about 6,000 pics from the film onto her Instagram.
Midler also spoke about the upcoming reboot that's currently in the works with the Disney Channel -- the remake of the film was announced last year as a Disney Channel Original Movie but it was also confirmed that none of the original cast would be involved.
At the time, Midler slammed the project calling it "cheap", but since then she has changed her tune.
"It’s found its wings and it’s just flown away," Midler said of the remake adding, "It’s turned into this beautiful creature. It was like an ugly duckling, a little creature that nobody thought could do anything and now it’s a swan."
As to if there could be a potential sequel to the original, Midler teased, "You know, we'll see... who knows? Never say never."
