Steve Guttenberg Confirms Police Academy 8 Is Coming

It's been 24 years since the last Police Academy film.

If you were left on the edge of your seat after Police Academy 7: Mission To Moscow -- the wait for the eighth film in the classic series could be over sooner than expected.

Steve Guttenberg -- who starred in the first four Police Academy films -- has reassured a fan on Twitter that the franchise will be returning after a 24-year absence.

This isn’t the first mention of Police Academy 8 – the project has been in the works for a few years now, but production has continually stalled.

It was announced in 2014 that Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele had signed on to produce the upcoming film, but they don't appear to be attached to the reboot anymore.

Guttenberg’s reassurance that Police Academy 8 is "in a gift bag being readied" could honestly mean anything, but people are pretty excited by the vague tidbit.

That being said, some fans are arguing there’s been plenty of Police Academy films, but there's a ~criminal~ shortage of Three Men And A Baby sequels.
