Jurassic World: Is There A Fallen Kingdom Post Credit Scene?
May contain spoilers ... okay, yeah it does.
Post credit scenes aren't anything new, in fact it's basically a staple of most Marvel movies to have not just one but SEVERAL scenes snuck in between the end credits of their films. Deadpool 2 had FIVE.
It's becoming more and more common in films and it's particularly torture for those of us with small bladders -- especially when the post-credit scene isn't even worth it. Some are major clues to upcoming flicks in the franchise, some are cute cameos and some are just pointless exercises in not wetting your pants.
With the imminent release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom we thought we'd give you the low-down so you have all the details before you get a tyranno-sore-arse from sitting in the cinema too long.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom does have one post-credit scene, but don't think you'll be escaping the cinema midway through the credits -- it's at the verrryyyyy end.
If you, like many, many folk will, were busting for the loo or just totally forgot and want to know what you missed read on, otherwise the following *will* contain spoilers for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Following the film's explosive conclusion where Maisie decided to send a garage full of dinosaurs out into the world, the film's credits roll as audiences are set to wonder just how the world will change now dinos roam among us.
The final post-credit scene is a brief, BRIEF shot of some pterodactyl-like dinos flying around the Eiffel Tower of Paris Las Vegas.
That's it. It's basically just another example of the consequences of Maisie's actions.
While it's super brief, it does hammer home the fact that Fallen Kingdom is definitely the second part of a trilogy. During an interview, the film's writer and producer (and director of the first Jurassic World) Colin Trevorrow said the end of the film was "designed for people to want to know what's going to happen next".
"The earlier Jurassic Park movies had pretty clear definitive endings. They were much more episodic. In working with Derek Connolly, my co-writer, we were also thinking about where it was gonna go in the future."
So that leads into the question, will there be a Jurassic World 3? And the answer is... yeah, duh.
Back in February it was confirmed that both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard would be returning for the third instalment with a planned release date of June 11, 2021.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was directed by J.A. Bayona and stars Pratt and Howard alongside BD Wong, James Cromwell, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones and Jeff Goldblum.
The film opens in cinemas across Australia from June 21.
