Lady Gaga Belts Her Heart Out In First A Star Is Born Trailer With Bradley Cooper

A Star is Born This Way.

It's the role she was born to play, ever since she was born this way. Lady Gaga is a star and A Star Is Born.

Ok we got dizzy writing that but IN CASE you weren't aware Lady Gaga is starring in a major motion picture. A remake of a remake of a remake (seriously), we finally got our first look at Gaga starring alongside the film's director Bradley Cooper.

Cooper plays singer-songwriter Jackson Maine, an artist struggling with alcoholism. He stumbles upon another artist -- this one struggling with confidence. Ally, played by Gaga, refuses to sing her own songs, "Almost every single person has told me they liked the way I sounded but they didn't like the way I look," she tells Maine.

Then he invites her on stage to just belt the ever loving crap out of a song.

A Star Is Born is a Hollywood staple at this point. Every generation has had an iteration. In 1937 Janet Gaynor and Fredric March starred in the first as an aspiring actress and a faded movie star who helps launch her career.

In 1954 Judy Garland and James Mason made a musical version directed by George Cukor. It was billed heavily as Garland's comeback, after her split with MGM in 1950.

The film was remade AGAIN in 1976, this time with Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand. The third remake shifted the focus from the movie industry towards the world of rock'n'roll.

A fourth version was rumoured for years, in 2011 Clint Eastwood was in talks to direct a version that would star Beyoncé herself, but she left the project in 2012. In 2015 Cooper signed on and soon after it was announced that Gaga would be star alongside him.

It's Gaga's second feature film role after she played an assassin called La Chameleon in Machete Kills, and she also starred in American Horror Story: Hotel and American Horror Story: Roanoke. She won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries of Television film for Hotel.

Gaga called starring in the film a "dream come true", posting the trailer on social media. Not only does she sing in the role but she also co-wrote songs for the album. Multi-talented legend!

A Star is Born is set to open in cinemas in October. Gaga is coming for that EGOT hunny.
