Justin Bieber sent his friend Chris Brown a supportive message after the singer was accused of raping a woman in Paris.

Bieber commented on the video shortly after it was posted, writing: "No one can touch you ur the GOAT [greatest of all time]."

The comment has been construed by fans as Bieber showing his support for Brown -- who has protested his innocence after being released from police custody in Paris.

Brown was accused by a 24-year-old woman of rape after the pair met at Le Crystal nightclub in the French capital on January 15.

Although he was released and allowed to leave the country, French police are still investigating the matter, according to TMZ.

The singer wrote on Instagram in a now-deleted post that the allegation was "false".

"NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!" he wrote.

Fans of Bieber's have expressed anger and frustration that the "What Do You Mean" singer seems to have supported Brown following the rape allegation.

"@justinbieber are you serious? Disgusting," wrote one commenter.

"Unbelievable, you missed the opportunity to be quiet :)" wrote another.

Rapper T.I. has also shown his support for Brown as well as actor Nick Cannon, who wrote on Instagram: "Stay focused King".

Bieber featured on Brown's track "Next To You" from his 2011 record, F.A.M.E and also appeared in the music video clip for the track.
