Roxy Jacenko Says Daughter Pixie Was Bullied While Husband Was In Jail

PR princess Roxy Jacenko has opened up about the impact husband Oliver Curtis' 2016 incarceration for insider trading had on their family -- specifically, their 7-year-old daughter Pixie.

Speaking to SMH, the 39-year-old revealed the toll the experience took on the pair's little girl, revealing that children began picking on the young Instagram influencer.

"Parents were clearly speaking about our situation and doing so in front of their children, Pixie's fellow students, which made her time in school very challenging for her," she told the publication.

She continued, "One minute she was told her dad broke out of jail, and the next that her dad was a very bad person -- not something you want any child to hear, especially when they are so impressionable and it's their father."

She continued, “The sooner we educate our children about the importance of being accepting and kind to one another, the better. It sets them up for their future.”

It's not the first time the Sweaty Betty owner has opened up about the dark time period. In November, she revealed on Sunday Night that she "went rogue" following her husband's incarceration.

"I think I started living a life very quickly as soon as Ollie went to jail that was fast. And that was drinking too much and consuming things that I shouldn't have been consuming... I went rogue, basically."

She added, "I would go out, and I'd come home at all hours of the morning. I basically lost my marbles."

To add to her woes, just weeks after Curtis entering prison, Roxy found out she had breast cancer.

"I couldn't cope. I had a nervous breakdown," she said, adding, "I wouldn't have coped. But the only thing that stopped me was the fact that and [the children] needed me," she said.

Things seem to be heading in a more positive direction these days, as Jacenko said that they've since "worked through" Pixie's bullying issues on the playground.

Meanwhile, mum and daughter duo have been busy writing about Pixie's experience being bullied in a new book, Penelope's Playground, which is set to be released on February 1.
