Olivia Newton-John Shuts Down Rumours On Her Health
In response to the stories that she is at death's door, Olivia Newton-John has appeared in a video to put the rumours to rest.
After her family responded to the stories claiming Newton-John only had "weeks to live" as she battled cancer for the third time, the Grease star herself has posted a video on social media.
Captioning the short clip, "Happy New Year!! Here’s to a wonderful 2019!!! Love & light, Olivia", Newton-John appears happy and healthy.
"This is Olivia Newton-John and I just want to say that the rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated," she joked -- quoting Mark Twain.
Newton-John clarified that she's "doing great" and wished fans a happy and healthy new year.
The short clip follows comments from her niece, Tottie Goldsmith, who came forward to say the reports were a "sick rumour" and that Newton-John was "going nowhere and in really good health".
Similarly, Newton-John's rep in the United States told News.com.au "You might want to get better sources versus reading tabloids."
