Winning! Charlie Sheen Celebrates One Year of Sobriety

The actor revealed the milestone in his "renewed journey" over Twitter.

After years of battling with substance abuse which fuelled a very public meltdown back in 2011, Charlie Sheen looks to be ending 2018 on a much healthier note.

Posting to Twitter this morning alongside a snap of a one-year sobriety coin, the former Two And A Half Men star revealed to his 11 million followers, "So, THIS happened yesterday! A fabulous moment, in my renewed journey. #TotallyFocused."

The actor has kept a relatively low profile in recent years, although he did touch down in Australia last month to perform two stand-up shows for his 'An Evening With Charlie Sheen' tour. Prior to his arrival, he spoke to the panel of The Project about what lead to his decision to get sober.

“You don't really understand the magnitude of it, I didn't completely feel the gravity of it. It's only hindsight and retrospect that you see it. Like, if I saw something on the Internet, it was like ‘dude, what was that?!’ I don't recommend it!” he told the hosts.

“It didn't really make any sense when you break it down because I had been fired from the show which was going pretty good. I lost the ability the hang out with my kids, they kept all my money and somehow in my mind, that came out as winning. But yes, I look back on that and it's not feeling like it was winning now.”

He added, “If I’m alive, I’m still winning.”
