Nick Jonas And Priyanka Chopra Got Married In India
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have tied the knot in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan.
The couple wed in a traditional Christian ceremony officiated by Jonas' father at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodphur, People reports.
The Bollywood star and pop singer wrote on social media that they incorporated different elements from their Christian and Hindu faiths for the lavish wedding.
"One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other's faiths and cultures," Chopra and Jonas both wrote on Instagram.
"And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi," the couple wrote of the traditional Hindu wedding ritual.
"Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed," they added.
Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner -- who dates Nick's brother Joe Jonas -- was also pictured in the wedding photos in a traditional Lehenga.
Jonas and Chopra first met in 2017 at the Vanity Fair Oscars party and started dating after running into each other again at the 2018 Met Gala in May. Things then moved very quickly for the couple with Jonas proposing in Crete in July.
“I got down on one knee, again, and I said: 'Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?'” Jonas told Vogue.
“No joke—she took about 45 seconds," he added. Forty-five seconds of silence. (Chopra says she was speechless.) Jonas pressed on. “I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.”
Chopra told Vogue ahead of the celebrations that they would be holding two ceremonies -- one Christian and one Hindu in different parts of Rajasthan.
“People will need vacations after this wedding,” she joked.
Congrats, Nick and Priyanka!
