Kim Porter Honoured At Funeral As Diddy Pays Tribute To 'Our Angel'

The rapper was one of many to pay tribute to her.

After passing away at the age of 47 after suffering with what has been reported as pneumonia, friends and family gathered for the private funeral of Kim Porter in Columbus, Georgia.

In attendance were a number of celebrities -- most notably Sean "P Diddy" Combs, who dated and shared three of his children -- Jessie James, D’Lila, and Christian -- with Porter.

While the pair broke up 11 years ago, they remained close friends, with a source telling Us Weekly that the rapper was “inconsolable” over her death. “Kim’s passing has turned his life upside down,” they added.

During the service, Mary J. Blige, Dallas Austin, Yolanda Adams and Faith Evans were among those who spoke, while Beyonce posted several photos on Instagram to pay tribute to her late friend.

Prior to laying her to rest, Combs again honoured his ex-girlfriend with a touching post.

“Today we lay to rest our ANGEL,” he wrote. “Her spirit lives on with us FOREVER!!! We thank you all for your prayers and support. You have no idea how much it means to us. We thank GOD for all of you.”

In a statement last week, Diddy and Porter’s family said, “God broke the mold [sic] when he made Kim, there was truly no other woman like her”.

“Although her time here on earth was far too short, she lived a life full of purpose and meaning. She was a loving mother and devoted friend,” the statement continued.

“She was the epitome of kindness and grace. There wasn’t a person she met who’s soul she did not touch. Kim was the type of woman who changed lives for the better. She will be forever remembered and missed by so many. As her family, we promise to honor her every day of our lives. We love you always.”

Diddy and Porter started dating in the mid-1990s and split in 2007.
