Robert De Niro And Wife Grace Hightower Reportedly Split After More Than 20 Years

It appears Robert De Niro and his wife of more than 20 years, Grace Hightower, have split.

First reported in Page Six, sources have confirmed to multiple outlets that the couple is no longer living together, and could confirm the split in the coming days.

De Niro has also been spotted attending events solo where Hightower would usually accompany him. One source told Page Six, "He’s been at a few things since the very end of the summer without her -- and rumour has it they are done."

Hightower married De Niro in 1997 after the pair met at a London restaurant Mr Chow where she was working a decade earlier. They had their first child in 1998 but in the following year, the Raging Bull actor filed for divorce, suing his wife for custody of their child.

By 2004, the divorce was never finalised and the pair - resolving their issues -- renewed their vows.

According to People they had two judges to officiate "so they can make sure this one sticks," De Niro joked at the time.

They had a second child, via surrogate, in 2011. The Taxi Driver star also has four other children -- two with his former wife Diahnne Abbott and twin sons via surrogate with ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith.

Hightower has been an actress with minor roles in movies and TV shows and sung on the soundtrack for the 2009 film Precious as well as launching Coffee of Grace, an organisation that aims to bring sustainable farming and fair-trade to Rwandan coffee farmers.
