Tekashi 6ix9ine Facing Possible Life In Prison

Following his arrest earlier in the week, the rapper has been charged with criminal charges and may be facing a life sentence.

Tekashi 6ix9ine -- real name Daniel Hernandez -- was arrested on Sunday, denied bail on Monday and is reportedly facing six counts including racketeering and firearms charges.

TMZ has obtained a 17-page indictment which also reveals Hernandez is facing a count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime, which carries a minimum charge of 25 years in prison.

According to prosecutors Hernandez, his ex-manager and two other members of the Nine Trey Bloods were thought to have attempted an armed robbery in April.

The Associated Press reports that Hernandez was held as he was seen as a danger to the community as he also had the ability to direct others to carry out acts of violence on his behalf. The judge ordered the 22-year-old to be held until a bail hearing later in the week.

This isn't the first time Hernandez has had a run-in with the law. In 2015 he pleaded guilty to three felony counts of the use of a child in a sexual performance. The rapper was sentenced to probation after a video was posted to social media which featured a 13-year-old girl performing a sex act. Hernandez denied the allegations of wrongdoing.

In 2017 he was arrested for an outstanding warrant for choking a 16-year-old and pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with a traffic stop in May.

In July Hernandez was hospitalised after being pistol-whipped, kidnapped and robbed by armed assailants. While the rapper was uncooperative with police, there were a handful of his critics who believed the rapper had staged the injury to promote his collaboration "FEFE" with Nicki Minaj.
