Pregnant Amy Schumer Hospitalised In Second Trimester, Cancels Comedy Tour

The comedian has been suffering in her second trimester and was forced to cancel appearances.

Posting to Instagram, Schumer -- who announced her pregnancy in late last month -- wrote that "everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story".

Revealing that she was suffering from hyperemesis, the 37-year-old added, "Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullshit!"

She also revealed that due to her illness, she was forced to cancel her upcoming shows in Texas, promising to head there as soon as she had recovered.

Hyperemesis gravidarum is a complication of pregnancy that has symptoms of severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss and occasionally dehydration. It has been described as a more severe morning sickness.

Schumer married her husband Chris Fischer in a surprise ceremony earlier this year, and announced her pregnancy by first posting a doctored image of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Schumer also directed fans to journalist Jessica Yellin's Instagram where the News Not Noise host ran through voting suggestions for the midterm elections before confirming the pregnancy.

In her Instagram, Schumer confirmed that both she and her baby were doing fine, but that she needed to take some time out to recover.
