Pamela Anderson Calls Feminism "A Bore" And Slams #MeToo
In a recent interview with '60 Minutes Australia,' the 'Baywatch' star slammed #MeToo, saying it's paralysing men.
At her French home, Anderson was quizzed by 60 Minutes for her record-breaking amount of Playboy covers.
"A lot of feminists would say Playboy is the ultimate exploiter, user of women and the female form," reporter Liam Bartlett said to the 51-year-old asking if she felt exploited by the magazine.
"I think there’s worse than Playboy, I think it was very empowering, and no one forced me to do anything," she responded adding, "I think this feminism can go too far."
"I’m a feminist but I think this third-wave feminism can go too far. I think it’s a bore, I think it paralyses men," Anderson said.
"I think that this #MeToo movement is a bit too much for me, I'm sorry… I'll probably get killed for saying that."
Continuing, Anderson seemed to laugh off the stories surrounding men like disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein saying: "My mother taught me don't go to a hotel with a stranger or if someone answers the door in a bathrobe and it's supposed to be a business meeting, maybe I should go with someone else."
"I think that some things are just common sense, Or, if you go in [to a hotel room]... get the job," she laughed adding, "I'm Canadian, I'm going to speak my mind I'm sorry, I'm not politically correct maybe."
Anderson was also asked about the sex tape with her ex-husband Tommy Lee which she clarified, "We didn't make a 'sex tape', we were always naked and we were always filming things."
"This was not a tape made for anyone else to see, and we never made any money off this tape," she said before adding, "but it started a trend."
Anderson was also quizzed about her ongoing friendship with Julain Assange, which she described as "humanising" him when most people think of him as a computer screen.
Calling her friendship a "romantic struggle", but laughing off any idea of an actual romantic relationship, Anderson also teased that her French beau Adil Rami had given her an engagement ring -- she just left it upstairs.
