Drake Mourns The Loss Of Fan He Met Through Make-A-Wish

Drake has written a heartfelt tribute to a fan who passed away, opening up about the special bond they formed after meeting through a charity initiative.

The rapper wrote on Instagram that he first met Kay through Make-A-Wish -- the foundation that helps people with life-threatening illnesses achieve one of their dreams.

"Gonna miss you a whole lot," Drake wrote in the emotional post.

"We met through Make-A-Wish and we built a genuine bond you would text me and check on me while I was on tour and tell me positive things and share your dreams and goals," he said.

Drake shared a picture of him visiting Kay in hospital, holding a tissue up to his eyes as he sits by her bed.

"I am crying in this pic," he writes. "But it was tears of joy cause we just prayed for you with your father," he continued.

"I am sorry I missed your text on my birthday that's eating my soul right now but you know how much I loved you and was looking forward to seeing you after tour."

Drake is no stranger to making hospital visits to fans of his -- in August, he shared a photo of 11-year-old heart transplant recipient, Sophia Sanchez.

Sanchez took part in the "In My Feelings" challenge earlier this year and her video came to the attention of Drake after it was posted to the Lurie Children's Hospital YouTube page.
