Rapper Falls To Death During Filming

Jon James McMurray died while filming a stunt in which he was walking on the wing of a plane.

The Canadian rapper was filming a video which he had reportedly worked on for months leading up to the stunt.

The 34-year-old was attempting to walk out onto the wing of the plane but as he moved out further, the small Cessna went into a downward spiral according to a statement released by his management.

McMurray held onto the wing as the pilot attempted to correct the downward spiral until it was too late and he did not have time to pull his parachute.

A professional freeskier and stuntman, McMurray transitioned to pursuing his dream of a music career after he broke his back and shattered his heel. His music videos routinely featured his stunting background.

"His passion for making music videos and performing stunts were combined, and Jon pushed music in a new direction that was unchartered territory," his management said in their statement.

"Jon was an incredibly passionate person and was always smiling," the statement continued, "he filled everyone around him with positivity, and never spoke poorly about another person. He truly had a heart of gold."

"Jon would want to be remembered as a beacon of light to follow your dreams, and would want everyone to continue to be inspired through his music and life message".

Since his death, a GoFundMe page has been set up in part to support McMurray's family -- he's survived by his parents, brother and wife Kali James McMurray -- as well as releasing his music "for the world to see, hear, spread and enjoy".

According to the crowdfunding project's description, McMurray had "hundreds" of versus and albums that he had recorded and laid out in a release strategy in the event of his death.
