Rihanna Apparently Turned Down Super Bowl To Support Colin Kaepernick

A new report suggests that Rihanna turned down one of the biggest performances of the year.

Us Weekly believe that Rihanna was offered to perform the Super Bowl LIII halftime show, but she refused because she supports Colin Kaepernick.

According to a source, the "Work" singer refused to play the Super Bowl because of the NFL's stance with the anthem protests. Kaepernick was the first player to take a knee during the US national anthem in protest of police brutality.

The NFL refused to back Kaepernick, and he remains a free agent with no teams willing to sign him.

Recently the football star was signed as the new face of Nike's latest campaign, celebrating their 30th anniversary.

After Rihanna refused the gig, it was apparently handballed over to Maroon 5 who, having nothing else on their plates, accepted.

There have also been rumours that Cardi B may stop by as a special guest to gas up Maroon 5's performance and bring a little flavour to the show.
