Dakota Johnson Leaks Her Own Phone Number For A Good Cause

It's a fear of many celebrities, to have their phone number leaked to the public, but in Dakota Johnson's case, she wants you to call her.

After speaking at the Global Citizen Festival in New York last week the 50 Shades of Grey star posted her phone number on Instagram inviting women to tell her their stories.

"Women and girls in every corner of the world face extreme violence and sexual harassment on a daily basis," Johnson captioned the image, "Over 800 women and adolescent girls die every day because they do not have access to reliable contraceptives and basic maternity services."

"I don’t want to speak for you. I want to listen to you."

Johnson wrote that she would listen to the stories in her voicemail and -- with the help of Global Citizen -- compile them.

"We must achieve a world where #sheisequal," the star wrote.

If you call the number Johnson's voice can be heard saying: "This is Dakota Johnson, please leave a voicemail after the tone and I will record and share your story so we can live in a world where she is equal. Thank you."

Johnson also gave out her phone number and email during the Global Citizen Festival last week telling the crowd, "I want you to tell me what you've gone through as a woman or girl in the world that's been suffering."

"I don't want to speak, I would rather listen. I care what you have to say and I want to help you, women and girls around the world, tell your story."

Johnson has said she will listen to every message and hopes to amplify the voices of women everywhere so that world leaders will hear these stories, leading to fundamental changes toward gender equality.

Meanwhile, Johnson was also making headlines when it was rumoured that she and Coldplay's Chris Martin were expecting a child together. The pair were hosting what some believed to be a gender reveal party, but the 29-year-old's reps denied that she was pregnant.

While TMZ initially reported that Johnson and Martin had released blue balloons signalling they were expecting a baby boy -- Johnson's team told Entertainment Tonight that the balloons were just part of a birthday bash for the Suspiria actor who celebrated her birthday on October 4.
