Everything We Know About The ‘Other’ Royal Wedding Happening Today
She might have been overshadowed -- just a tad -- by her older cousin Harry but that hasn’t stopped Princess Eugenie of York from planning one hell of a royal wedding.
Eugenie -- the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson (Fergie) -- will marry Jack Brooksbank tonight in a lavish royal wedding at Windsor Castle.
The smaller ceremony hasn't drawn as much fanfare as Prince Harry and Megan Markle's extravagant May nuptials... however here's all you need to know about 2018's second biggest British royal wedding.
It hasn't officially been confirmed that Eugenie's grandmother -- Queen Elizabeth II -- will attend but she is footing the bill for the reception, Vanity Fair reports. She's also been present at all of her grandchildren's weddings so it seems likely she'll turn up for Eugenie's.
We know Prince George and Princess Charlotte will have a job to do, too. The adorable royals will be among the celebrity pageboys and bridesmaids accompanying Princess Eugenie down the aisle. They'll be joined by Savannah Philips (daughter of Eugenie’s cousins Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn) and Mia Tindall, Eugenie's cousin, Zara Tindall and her husband Mike's little one.
Celebrities Robbie Williams, George and Amal Clooney, Ellie Goulding and Sir Elton John are also expected to attend.
Eugenie will follow in the footsteps of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, choosing to wed in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
An Unconventional Wedding Cake
While Harry and Meghan served up a Spring-inspired lemon elderflower cake, Eugenie and Jack are going to indulge in something a little richer.
“The red velvet and chocolate cake will be a traditional cake, with a modern feel,” Kensington Palace wrote in a statement this weekend.
“It will incorporate the rich colours of autumn in its design and will be covered with detailed sugar work including ivy.”
The cake will be made by boutique artisan Sophie Cabot who commented in a statement that she was "incredibly excited".
The Wedding Singer
Guests will reportedly be serenaded by Italian opera icon Andrea Bocelli, who will sing two pieces at the wedding ceremony, People reports.
Musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform at Windsor Chapel.
Tequila Will Flow
There will be no shortage of booze at Eugenie and Jack's reception -- the groom is the UK ambassador for Casamigos Tequila, the brand founded by George Clooney.
Fergie seems pretty chuffed about the prospect of tequila shots at the upcoming wedding.
"The good news is Jack also works as the European Manager for Casamigos Tequila, so I am perfect," she told The One Show on BBC.
Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank will marry this Friday, October 12.
