Will Smith Celebrated His 50th Birthday By Jumping Out Of A Helicopter
For his 50th birthday, Will Smith decided to accept a challenge and bungee jump out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon.
Yep, you read that right. While most of us just book a table at the pub and invite a few mates to buy us free drinks -- Will Smith decided the best way to celebrate five decades on Earth was to rapidly fall towards it while dangling from a vehicle comprised of many spinning blades.
Back in February, a YouTube channel called Yes Theory published a video titled "Will Smith... We challenge you" where they offered up the chance to take the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to perform the Heli Bungee Jump.
The entire event was live-streamed on YouTube, while Smith's family Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow and Jaden all watched on from the safety of the ground. He was also interviewed by his Fresh Prince co-star Alfonso Ribeiro.
Before the jump, Smith was blessed by a Navajo Medicine Man and given protection and guidance, which must have helped, as everything went off without a hitch.
While swinging over the Grand Canyon, where most of us would be absolutely crapping ourselves, Smith was just admiring the view saying, "This is some of the most beautiful stuff I’ve ever seen in my life" after the stunt, which he described as going "from pure terror to absolute bliss".
Following the jump, Smith reflected on his five incredible decades saying, "Life is hard. you might get hurt. Your heart might get broken but you still gotta commit... Don't hesitate. GO!"
Happy birthday indeed, Will! Who knows what he'll do for 60.
