“She’s been my secret ingredient” - John Krasinski Gushes Over Emily Blunt

The actor and director credited Emily for convincing him to direct A Quiet Place, and said that working on the project together made their marriage stronger.

John Krasinski is having a massive year, following up the success of horror flick A Quiet Place with his new Amazon series Jack Ryan, based on Tom Clancy’s book series.

In a new interview with The Independent UK, John credited his wife and Quiet Place co-star Emily Blunt for his success, saying: “I honestly feel I wouldn’t have this career if I hadn’t met her".

"She’s taught me so much about how to go about the business,” he continued. “She’s been my secret ingredient.”

He went on to reveal that it was Emily who convinced him to direct A Quiet Place as well as star in it.

“I was originally just going to star and Emily told me I had to direct it,” he said. “She knew it was a huge opportunity for me, and in the madness she just let me be myself.

Where working with loved ones can often be a source of stress, John said that it actually brought him closer to Emily.

“It without a doubt made our marriage stronger,“ he shared. “I think we were both surprised by that. Not that I thought it would get worse but we were much more in love after the movie. We leaned on each other in a way we never had.”
