J-Lo Will Receive This Year's MTV Video Vanguard Award

She'll make history as the first Latinx artist to receive the award.

The MTV Video Music Awards are right around the corner, and because this is 2018 and not the early '00s -- when Britney's performance was the only thing that would matter all night -- the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award is the most important part of the evening.

After Britney was the first in five years to receive the award in 2011, other winners have followed from 2013 -2017 include Justin TimberlakeBeyoncé, Kanye West, Rihanna and Pink.

Generally, the winner of the Video Vanguard award will perform a huge medley of hits, or -- if you're Rihanna -- multiple medleys throughout the evening.

And this year, it's been announced that the very iconic Jenny From The Block -- Ms Jennifer Lopez herself -- will be receiving the prestigious award.

J-Lo has been serving us BOPS since 1999 when she first released "If You Have My Love" with its extremely Y2K video about being a cam girl. Ahead of her time legend!

There was also the time the original #Bennifer served us this iconic butt shot before any of us had even heard of Kim Kardashian in "Jenny From The Block".

There are literally so many more iconic jams, too. "Let's Get Loud", anyone? "Get Right"? "On The Floor"? "I'm Real" with Ja Rule? Basically, we'll all be quoting J-Lo in "Play" when she says "PLAY MY MOTHERF***ING SONG!"
