Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams Reveals She's Seeking Mental Health Help

"I’m not supposed to be feeling this way -- what do I do? I wanted out."

Michelle Williams has opened up about seeking help for depression and has checked herself into a mental health facility outside Los Angeles, she revealed on Twitter today.

Previously discussing her battle with depression on The Talk last year, the former Destiny’s Child singer revealed in a post on social media that she has now "sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals".

“For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognise when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care about your wellbeing,” the post read.

“I have recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals.”

During her appearance on The Talk in 2013, in which she discussed her mental health issues, she revealed her feelings of guilt and confusion over her illness.

“I was at that place where it got so dark and heavy because sometimes you feel like, ‘I’m the provider, I take care of people, I’m not supposed to be feeling this way — what do I do?’ I wanted out,” she said.

Fans across social media were quick to throw their support behind the 37-year-old and praised her for bringing attention to an issue so many are forced to deal with.

Rapper Missy Elliot also joined fans in sending well wishes to the star, urging her followers to "lift our sis up in prayer".

We hope Michelle feels better soon!
