Final Bachelor In Paradise Couple Megan Marx And Jake Ellis Announce Split

RIP every couple from the show.

Just days after Jarrod Woodgate and Keira Maguire announced their break-up comes the sad news that the last Bachelor In Paradise couple -- Jake Ellis and Megan Marx -- have also called time on their relationship.

Marx first confirmed the split today on her Instagram story, saying, “Our first kiss and first date was on a reality TV show -- something I’ll always treasure as a beautiful experience and as beautiful memories."

“The rest, in private, far exceeded the fun/romance of the show as we grew to love and respect each other, and also tease the sh*t out of each other as best friends," she added.

“We’ll be keeping everything else to ourselves -- sending love to everyone who has supported us.”

Shortly after, Jake also posted a statement in a caption of a photo of himself and his former flame, saying:

“This is the post that I thought and hoped I would never ever have to write. Megan and I are sadly taking a break from our relationship together and words will never express the heartbreak I’m feeling right now."

"No matter what you believe, our relationship was as real and beautiful as they come, I love her wholeheartedly. Megan is and always will be the best part of me, the most beautiful and intelligent woman I’ve ever had the privilege of loving, my best friend,” Ellis wrote on Instagram.

“I wish with all of my heart that this wasn’t happening right now but the only thing I can hope for is that one day soon we will rekindle our special love and come back together stronger than ever before - but unfortunately that time is just not right now. I will always hold that hope. 💔 #devastated” he added.

Marx also famously dated her co-star Tiffany Scanlon after meeting while competing for Richie Strahan's affections on The Bachelor in 2016.

Along with Megan, Jake, Jarrod and Keira, former favourites Tara Pavlovic and Sam Cochrane also announced they had broken off their engagement back in early July.

RIP our hearts.
