Bachelor In Paradise's Tara Pavlovic Calls Relationship With Sam Cochrane 'The Most Toxic Thing'
"I feel the biggest sense of relief now that it's all over."
While the pair appeared perfectly matched and besotted with each other to the public, the Queensland nanny revealed it was a totally different story behind closed doors.
"The relationship was just the most toxic thing," she told Daily Mail. "'I feel the biggest sense of relief now that it's all over. I finally feel like I'm myself again."
The 27-year-old also dished that it was, in fact, Sam who initially called it quits -- only for him to beg her for another shot soon after.
"Sam left me after a fight thinking I would beg for him back -- he always threatened to leave and played games," Tara said. "But this time I told him to never speak to me again and then he begged for me back for weeks."
She added: "I really did lose my identity when I was with him, and now feel like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can finally start focusing on who I really am."
The reality star -- who we first met during Matty J’s season of The Bachelor in 2017 -- also told the outlet that Sam would often belittle her by saying they were incompatible.
“He would always say to me I needed someone who was "dumb with no feelings", that he was too smart and deep for me,” she said.
Despite the bitter break-up, Tara says she’s keeping her head up and heading to Europe for some much-needed ‘me’ time.
“I have a friend's wedding in Germany, and I am also being flown to Sweden for a music festival with a girlfriend from Sydney, thanks to Foreo Skincare,” she said.
The former couple announced their split via a statement on social media on June 30, with Tara adding on her Instagram story following the announcement:
"I don't want anyone to think we 'faked' anything or that what you saw on TV wasn't real. What we felt was 100% real and we both put our best efforts in to make it work in the real world but unfortunately for different reasons it didn't work out."
