Yvonne Strahovski And Peter Helliar Reunite On The Project

The Handmaid's Tale star drops into The Project.

She’s known best for her role as Serena Joy Waterford on The Handmaid’s Tale, but did you know that Yvonne Strahovski kicked off her career alongside Peter Helliar in the 2010 Aussie flick I Love You Too?

Reuniting on Wednesday night’s show, the pair reminisced on the romantic comedy, with The Project host joking, “That was darker than The Handmaid’s Tale, I went to some pretty dark places in that movie.”

Strahovski -- who is currently pregnant with her first child with husband Tim Loden -- also spoke about the challenges of portraying the villainous wife of Commander Waterford on the Dystopian series, The Handmaid's Tale.

I have a love-hate relationship with her… I really hated her in season one... But you know, it's fascinating. She is obviously a human at the core and that's what I have always focused on, in her and her vulnerability even though she is an evil woman.

And while the star happens to portray a character who can’t bear children in the series, she revealed that she won’t have to resort to camera trickery to hide her growing bump, saying, “Thankfully I will be delivering my child when we’re going on season three. So I’ll have to wait a little bit by the time I come back to get the ball rolling.”

Yvonne Strahovski is currently back in Australia filming Angel of Mine.

Catch The Project from Sunday to Friday at 6.30pm on Ten and on Tenplay.
