Katy Perry Sent Taylor Swift A Literal Olive Branch

North and South Korea who, hun? THIS is the biggest reunification of our generation.

The best celebrity feud may have reached its final chapter after Katy Perry sent longtime nemesis and best frenemy Taylor Swift an olive branch.

We don't mean that in the metaphorical sense, we mean she sent her a literal olive branch.

The "Swish Swish" singer apparently sent the LITERAL OLIVE BRANCH to Swift ahead of the launch of her Reputation tour in Arizona.

The olive branch has long been a symbol of peace, from Ancient Greeks and Romans to being carried by a dove in the Bible, which God sent Noah as a sign that his war on mankind was over. Now we have a fourth, historic example of the olive branch and its power to bring peace.

"So, I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch. This means so much to me," the 28-year-old  Swift said in a video she posted to her Instagram.

Perry accompanied the branch with a handwritten note which begins, "Hey old friend, I've been doing some thinking on past miscommunications and feelings between us and wanted to clear the air," and also includes the words "deeply sorry".

Also an important aside: it looks like Katy Perry has bespoke stickers in the shape of her dog, Nugget.

Where did Katy Perry get stickers made of her own dog?! Why would she do this?! That's just the beginning of our questions.

Katy and Taylor's feud has been one of the most enduring and frankly exhausting celebrity battles in recent history and it all stems back to back-up dancers. Yeah. Thrilling.

First it's important to remember the pair used to be such good preformative friends. Back in 2009 they couldn't stop trading banal compliments on social media.

Hahahaha classic, indeed!

Then in 2014 Swift spoke to Rolling Stone about her very aggressive track "Bad Blood" where she revealed she wrote the song about "another female artist Swift declines to name".

"She did something so horrible," Swift said at the time, "I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy... she tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me".

The DAY after the Rolling Stone piece was published Perry simply tweeted out this Mean Girls reference:

Subtlety has absolutely never been the 33-year-old's strong suit (case and point: THE LITERAL OLIVE BRANCH).

Another example of Perry's inability to work in layers was her very own diss track many believed was a response to "Bad Blood". The track, "Swish Swish", had artwork that featured Perry holding receipts (aka "holding the evidence"). There were lines in the track like "Funny my name keeps comin' out your mouth / 'Cause I stay winning" despite Swift almost never directly naming Perry at all. Like, almost ever.

Promoting "Swish Swish", and her album Witness, Perry on the other hand continued to bring the feud up in interviews. During a Carpool Karaoke segment she told James Cordon that Swift "started" the feud then went on to tell NME that Swift was trying to "assassinate" her character. Are you exhausted yet?

Anyway, Swift barely responded to ANY of this and, despite having a few potentially subtle digs to Perry in her video for "Look What You Made Me Do", maintained a signature silence. So Perry started saying she was over it, she forgave Swift and just wanted to forget the fight she had spent weeks rehashing in the press.

So that brings us to today, where the hatchet may well and truly be buried and we're now living in a new world. A world full of love, of peace, and of potential future collaborations all for the sake of publicity.

As Perry herself might say: "Swish swish, bish, another feud in the casket".
