Australia, Meet Your Next Bachelorette

Third time's the charm.

During last night's Bachelor in Paradise finale there were several questions lingering in the air. Who was going to be the one to propose? Would Keira force Jarrod to wear sunscreen? And could serial Paradise proposer Grant convince Ali to move to L.A.?

Well, we have our answer,  because right at the end of the episode it was announced that Ali Oetjen would be the next Bachelorette!

Yep, unfortunately things didn't work out with handsome Squidward, so Ali is hoping the third time's the charm, only this time she'll be in charge.

The 32-year-old South Australian was one of the ORIGINAL bachelorettes in Season 1 of The Bachelor, trying to win Tim Robards' heart. Though she was one of the final three, Ali made a name for herself for all the wrong reasons. On the first night she went in for an awkward pash, then followed that up by breaking her leg during one of the group dates!

Bones weren't the only thing Ali's broken along the way, saying "I have had my heart broken, but I've picked myself up and I'm ready to put my heart on the line again".

She also posted about her new gig on Instagram, captioning the pic, "I'm 32, I'm ready to be married & have kids but I'm willing to wait until I find the right one".

"I'm excited to have the chance to make meaning of my heartbreaks & pick wisely to find an everlasting love."

She also cheekily hashtagged the pic #LivesInAustralia, a sly dig at L.A. based Grant.

The move shouldn't be too much of a shock, considering way back in 2013 Ali was asked if she'd consider being the Bachelorette and her response was a resounding yes.

"Yeah, I definitely would," she told PopSugar, "I want to find the man of my dreams. [The show] would know my type. I think it would be something really exciting to do".

We can't wait to see Ali's next journey, but first we'll be seeing Honey Badger, Nick Cummins on his hunt for love on The Bachelor later this year.
