Avicii's Family, Friends And Celebrities Share Tributes To The Star

The Swedish DJ died earlier this week at just 28-years-old, shocking fans across the world.

Tim Bergling, better known globally as the enormously successful Swedish DJ "Avicii" died on April 20 at just 28-years-old. The news came as a shock to not only his fans across the world, but also his family.

Releasing a statement, his family thanks his fans for their support both during his career and in the recent days.

"We would like to thank you for the support and loving words about our son and brother," the statement read.

"Thank you for all the initiatives taken to honour Tim, with public gatherings, church bells ringing out his music, tributes at Coachella and moments of silence around the world."

The statement also asked that the public respect the family's wish to have their privacy as they grieve their shocking loss.

Bergling's ex-girlfriend Emily Goldberg also shared a tribute to the DJ on her Instagram, captioning a series of images of the pair, "For the two years we were together, he was my closest confidante, and my best friend".

"I’m still collecting my thoughts and thank you for all your kind words and texts. Wake me up when it’s all over, because I don’t want it to be real."

Bergling was found dead in a hotel room in Oman on April 20, local authorities ruled out criminal suspicion and foul play after two post-mortems were carried out.

After the news broke many celebrities who had worked with, or were simply fans of the musician began to share tributes on social media.
