Ita Buttrose Says Farewell To Studio 10

Wednesday's show will be her final stint as co-host.

Network Ten announced on Tuesday that Ita Buttrose would be saying farewell to Studio 10 this week.

Buttrose, who has served as one of the show's hosts since it launched in 2013, said she plans to focus more on the two books she's currently working on, adding to the 11 she has already published.

"I have had a long involvement with Network Ten, stretching back many years," Buttrose said in a statement.

"I've had five great years on Studio 10, but it is time for me to move on and focus on other parts of my life, including spending more time with my grandchildren and writing."

Buttrose's co-hosts and fans posted tributes on social media as the show rounded up some of her best moments from the last five years.

Ten's Chief Content Officer, Beverly McGarvey, also released a statement honouring Buttrose's contributions to Network Ten.

"Ita is a true legend of the Australian media and a great colleague," McGarvey said.

"She is, of course, welcome to come home to Studio 10 at any time."

"Everyone at Studio 10 and Network Ten, as well as her many fans, will miss her but we fully understand and support her decision to step away from the show.

The network plans to announce new additions to the show's panel in the coming weeks, with Wednesday April 25 serving as Buttrose's final show.

Studio 10 airs 8.30 weekday mornings on TEN and tenplay.
