Rebel Wilson Is Ready To Be The Next Bachelorette

As long as Channing Tatum is involved.

The Project had a very special co-host on Thursday with Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson joining the desk and she had a pretty big announcement: she's definitely keen to be the next Bachelorette.

"I actually wouldn't mind that!" she said before adding, "I'm not joking... I spoke to Sophie Monk about that."

"I watched every episode of her season. Because I'm the same age as her, I have the same problems..."

Unfortunately her co-host Carrie Bickmore reminded her that Hollywood hunk Chris Pratt couldn't be guaranteed as a bachelor to which Wilson responded, "Can Channing Tatum? He's single now..."

Wilson has been back in Australia recently for the appeal to her landmark court case where the actress sued Bauer media for defamation.

The 38-year-old joined the panel after an "exhausting" day in court where, as she described it, Bauer had been "quibbling about the amount of money they have to pay".

"This is a huge media organisation owned by German billionaires which means they can afford to pay, by the way," she joked.

Wilson was awarded a record amount of damages in September last year after she sued Bauer for defaming her in a series of articles they had published across publications like Woman's Day, OK Magazine and Woman's Weekly.

"If you’re just sitting there going about your business and suddenly there’s this awful campaign that causes an international media firestorm to bring you down and say everything about you is a lie. It’s heartbreaking."

While the payout is massive, Wilson has vowed to donate to those who may need it more than she does.

"To turn something that was really, really hurtful and devastating to myself, if I can somehow give back to Australians I can turn it into a positive thing."

"I do want as much money to go to charity so that’s why I’m here in Australia for the appeal."

Despite the lengthy legal arguments Wilson has kept her trademark sense of humour and, who knows, Sophie's stint as Bachelorette started as a joke and look where that ended up!
